Treehouse Home for Girls

January 3, 2018

One of our favorite projects this year was the Treehouse Facility for Foster Girls. This project started with Quimby Franovich, our Project Coordinator finding the facility and seeing that Project 828 can make an impact on their lives.

Quimby started an angel tree that hung over 120 angel wings with items that were in need for the facility. One by one the wings were sponsored by amazing companies and individuals in the community. Quimby arranged a night of arts and crafts with the girls at the facility helping them make watercolor art and pom poms that were soon crafted into art and decor for each of the rooms. Once we had all the items sponsored we had painters and contractors repair sheetrock and give each room a vibrant color to cheer up the home.(Thanks to KO Contractor Services & Trendview Construction) The Treehouse facility touched many people's hearts and led to many amazing volunteers to help clean, organize, and set up all of the new items for the home. The Christmas party started with the room reveals and gifting each of the girls with Pj’s, light up slippers, and a drinking cup with their names on them filled with candy. Uptown Salon was gracious to add each of the girls Christmas list to their angel tree allowing for many sponsors and clients to help purchase the girls’ wants. Chick-Fil-A of Magnolia donated food for the event and Tickled Pink Bakery provided the girls with cookies to decorate! Finally each of the girls were surprised by Uptown Salon inviting them to get their hair done on Wednesday January 3rd.
